Byron Johansen May 2, 2024

Byron Johansen, 87, of Arlington, Washington passed away on February 24, 2024. He was born in Underwood, Minnesota to Julia and Herman Johansen on June 15, 1936.

The Johansen family moved to Seattle, Washington in 1941. Byron attended Cleveland High School and graduated in 1954.

In 1955 Byron enlisted in the US Navy and served aboard the USS Waxwing and the USS Hansen from 1955 to 1959. He attended electronics school while aboard the USS Hansen and earned the
rank of E-2. Following his military service, he earned an associate degree at an electrical school in Oregon.

During his life Byron worked at three companies: Sperry Gyro-compass, Boeing, and Physio-Control. His electrical skills were very beneficial at all three companies.

He met his wife, Rosalie, in 1988 and married in 1992. They were married 31 wonderful years. Byron was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Klein, and two brothers, Bob and Fred Johansen.

He is survived hy his wife, Rosalie, brother, Al Johansen {Cheryl), step-daughter, Melinda Zacky, (Tony) step-son Brian McDowell, (Lindsey) and four step-grandchildren: Hailey Zacky, Aiden Zacky, Makayla McDowell, Noah McDowell, many cousins, and nieces and nephews.

Byron was interred in Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, -Washington.
