With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael Anthony Earp—a devoted son, brother, uncle, and cherished friend—on May 11, 2025, at the age of 79.
Michael was born on March 25, 1946, in Lewisham, England, to William Anthony (Tony) and Doris Irene Earp. At the age of four, in 1950, he immigrated with his family to the United States, where they made their home in Seattle, Washington. Michael attended Ingraham High School and graduated with the Class of 1964.
A lifelong entrepreneur, Michael made his mark in the business world as the founder of World Trac and United Electronics in Seattle. Later, he pursued his passion for food and branding as
the Founder and CEO of Earp’s Western Foods, where he introduced the popular Earp’s Western Sauce and Earp’s Sarsaparilla. He also owned and operated The Sharper Lens, a commercial photography business.
Michael’s zest for life extended far beyond his work. He found joy in a wide array of hobbies and interests—salmon fishing, making fireworks, woodworking, photography (including aerial
photography), playing guitar and slide guitar, rock tumbling, gardening, metal detecting, gold mining, and cooking from scratch. He had a curious spirit and a deep appreciation for creativity
and craftsmanship.
He remained actively involved in the Ingraham High School Class of 1964, helping to organize reunions and staying in close contact with his classmates over the decades. These connections
were a meaningful part of his life.
Michael is lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law, Sarah T. Earp; his nieces, Christine M. (Earp) Schwenke (Troy) and Sarah K. (Earp) Pickard (Austin); his grand-nephews, Kyle, Kaden, Preston, and Declan; his cousin, Sarah Griffith; and his devoted partner, Larie Anna Baker. He is preceded in death by his parents, William (Tony) and Doris Earp, and his beloved brother, Barry John Earp.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be planned TBD.
Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness, creativity, and connection will live on in the hearts of many.
