Justin James Bourbonnie 39 passed away in the presence of family on January 5th, 2022, following an almost 2-year valiant battle with stomach cancer.
Justin is survived by his father Tim, grandmother Barbara, sister Chanelle, aunt Denise and Uncle Dan plus many more loving family members.
Justin was a strong, independent man from the day he was born. Throughout life, he would always seek the path less traveled and preached his desire to continually “live free”. He was passionate about the outdoors and genuinely loved sitting on a riverbank to fish while soaking in what mother nature had to offer. In 2019, Justin found his dream job of fighting wildfires and was so happy to do something that gave him joy and purpose. He had finally found his sense of community and fought those fires with all his might. Unfortunately, his toughest battle would be cancer and although he fought his greatest fight, this was one battle he just couldn’t win.
Justin had comfort knowing that he would be reunited in heaven with his mother Sandra and was at peace having spent his last years surrounded by those he loved. His favorite quote to live by was “The plan is written in sand, and here comes the wind.”
Although Justin did not like to be the center of attention, a small celebration of life will be held on February 5th, 2022 with more details to follow.
